The working group Ramm in the Friedrich Miescher Laboratory is seeking a motivated

Technical research assistant (f/m/d) (75-100%)

Our group

Our interdisciplinary group is friendly, open-minded and international. We are interested in understanding biological pattern formation at different spatial scales. We focus on how protein systems organize the bacterial cell and how multicellular patterns in tissues are established by extracellular protein circuits. To address these questions, we combine protein biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology methods with quantitative fluorescence microscopy.

Your responsibilities

  • Molecular biology methods
  • Protein purification and generation of model membranes
  • Set up of in vitro reconstitution assays and their analysis using confocal fluorescence microscopy
  • Image processing and analysis
  • Analysis, review, evaluation and written summary of the results
  • Literature research
  • Support in lab organizational tasks

Your profile

  • University degree in biology, biochemistry, biophysics or related fields
  • Experience with molecular biology methods
  • Experience with fluorescence microscopy and the analysis of microscopy images
  • Experience with protein purification methods would be advantageous
  • English proficiency
  • Ability to work reliably, accurately and independently
  • Motivation to learn new methods

Our offer

We offer an interesting position in a diverse research environment with flexible working hours and social benefits.
